Important Information
All Colombian citizens, regardless of the length of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days, are required to pay a national sales tax (19%) on their accommodation during their stay. Foreign citizens with a tourist visa are exempt from paying this tax. If the person subject to tax and another person exempt from tax share the same room, the rate may be applied to the entire room. Front desk is open 24/7. Guests may be required to pay VAT (19%) at the property. Nonresident travelers who pay using a foreign card or bank transfer and present a valid passport and tourist visa may be exempt from value-added tax (19%) on tourist package bookings (accommodation plus other travel service). The guest also will not pay it if they follow 3 conditions. First — the guest has to be a foreigner and not stay in Colombia for 180 consecutive days in Columbia. Second — entry stamp migration must be mark as Tourism permit on the guest's passport. Third — the guest has to choose package tourism from the beginning. If one of the conditions is not followed, the guest will pay the taxes. Credit card details are required as guarantee for incidentals at check-in.
